Sustainability
At Alila Ubud, we take pride in minimizing our environmental impact, and engaging with local communities to create real and lasting economic opportunity.
Local Community
Alila Ubud is committed to recruiting the majority of its employees from the local Payangan and Gianyar communities.
Around 92% of our employees are native to the island; approximately 70% of our employees live within 12 miles of the hotel, with first priority given to residents of the banjars (neighborhoods) surrounding the resort. The resort also participates in local water irrigation, recycling and anti-poverty initiatives.
Green Initiatives
We take pride in sourcing goods locally, which benefits local communities economically and minimizes carbon emissions.
The resort purchases all fresh fruits and vegetables locally. Additionally, most of the room amenities and products available in our Alila Living boutique, such as soaps, shampoo, slippers and Spa Alila products, are produced in Bali—many of them through village co-operatives supported by Alila.
